BROOME ANGLICAN CHURCH of the ANNUNCIATION

TEAM

RECTOR

Rev Tim Mildenhall

Tim and Kathy come to Broome after working in an interdenominational ministry with university students at Curtin University in Perth for the last seven years.

Tim and Kathy met while on a three day bushwalk in 1990 and have four children – Anna 1/5/98 , Christopher 24/3/01 , Jonathan 7/11/03 and Isobel 20/06/06.

Tim grew up in country NSW, has worked on a farm, in traffic engineering and policy development, doing welfare work with Wesley Mission, in politics, and has had experience in a variety of church settings.  He has studied at the University of NSW , and gained his Bachelor of Divinity (with honours) from Moore Theological College , Sydney .  He enjoys cooking pretty much any cuisine, going to the gym, fishing (catching fish optional) and plays the trumpet.  He’d like to play some kind of sport in Broome and become a better nature photographer.

Kathy studied Asian Studies and Economics at the Australian National University .  She worked in Canberra for the Industry Department and in the Australian Human Rights Commission, before becoming a full time mum.  Kath likes swimming, played in the Australian Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in 1997, enjoys growing good friendships, and sees her role at this stage of life as pouring lots of energy into her children, to build and mould each of their unique characters.  Kathy is a creative photographer, when she finds the time and energy (and can get the camera out of Tim’s clutches).

Tim says, ‘I was excited to meet many of the congregation at BAC when I visited Broome recently.  What encouraged me was the obvious determination to put first things first – to serve Jesus with joy and enthusiasm, to love each other from the heart, and to make Jesus known to all in Broome.  I came away enthusiastic and energetic to serve alongside the people at BAC, if that is God’s will.’
